Ruth lives and works in the village of Dwygyfylchi. Art has always been her passion and her earliest memories are of spending hours drawing and painting with anything that came to hand.
Her paintings are created using a combination of techniques with paints, inks and water soluble crayons, combined with water-resistant media such as candle wax, masking fluid and oil pastels. She loves the playful way watercolours and inks can be applied in so many different ways, splashing, spraying, sponging and watching as the colours bleed and merge together.
Whether a man-made scene or a landscape it is the structure, texture and pattern that really inspires Ruth. The subtle colour combinations as light changes and affects surfaces is evident in her work.
